The Humber Bay Arch Bridge on the Etobicoke waterfront

Neighbourhood guide

Toronto West

Etobicoke, the Junction, High Park and Bloor West with subway, GO and lake access.

Toronto West covers the west end of the city, from the lake north through Etobicoke and east to High Park and the Junction. It is a wide mix. You can find a condo on the waterfront, a bungalow on a large lot or a Victorian semi near Bloor. Many areas have a main street within walking distance.

The neighbourhoods

  • Mimico, Humber Bay Shores and the Etobicoke lakeshore: waterfront condos along Lake Shore Boulevard, with a GO station at Mimico and trail access along the lake.
  • Long Branch: smaller older homes and newer builds near the lake, with a GO station and a streetcar line.
  • Islington-City Centre West and Six Points: mid-rise and high-rise condos, plus the Kipling and Islington subway stations.
  • The Kingsway: large detached homes, tree-lined streets, the Humber River and a village shopping strip.
  • The Junction: a former industrial area turned main street of shops and restaurants, with a mix of Victorian semis, detached homes and condos.
  • High Park: homes around the large city park, with semis, detached houses and apartments near Bloor.
  • Bloor West Village and Swansea: a long shopping street with a mix of detached homes, semis and condos, and quick access to Lake Ontario and High Park.
